Designing a brand to anchor the position of a leading UK cruise operator
Forth Ports first came to Denvir in 2016, in search of a way to strengthen its brand. However, we quickly discovered a unique selling point on which there was potential to anchor an entirely new brand altogether. As the only UK port operator providing cruise services in both Edinburgh and London, by individually branding its cruise services Forth Ports would be able to create clear differentiation and stake a strong claim in the marketplace.
Based on this USP we developed the brand of Capital Cruising, incorporating the nautical feature of a porthole as the focal point of the logo, along with a classic British colour palette to represent its nationwide service and to appeal to an international market. The full identity was then used to develop printed promotional collateral and a new Capital Cruising website, giving the brand an online home.
Following the new brand development project, Forth Ports again reached out to Denvir, this time to re-brand its Rosyth cruise terminal. Following a site visit, our team collaborated with Forth Ports to create a plan to deliver both internal and external branding on a massive scale.
Our team managed the entire project from design through to installation. The project consisted of a split focus, bringing out the newly developed Capital Cruising identity while also conveying the Forth Ports brand, with its vast service offering and strategic nationwide locations.
With entire walls being skinned, continuous communication with Forth Ports was crucial to ensure success with minimal disruption to operations. The final result was a beautifully branded cruise terminal, wrapped in bold imagery that enhances the experience of crew and holiday-goers from the moment they arrive at the port.
Continuing the success of both Capital Cruising projects, Denvir is proud to have also delivered the full brand repositioning and new website of Forth Ports Group.
