Taste of success with Tesco Northern Ireland

The eighth annual Tesco Taste Festival landed in Custom House Square last month with a bigger bang than ever before, with more than 25,000 consumers attending over the weekend.

Bringing together more than 60 suppliers from Northern Ireland and the Republic, the Festival has become one of the region’s most important food events, highlighting the quality of local produce directly to shoppers as well as showcasing it on a national stage.

As well as planning, executing and hosting the showcase event for Tesco Northern Ireland, the Denvir team were on-hand to make sure that the event ran smoothly and that the 60 exhibitors and 25,000 customers had the most enjoyable experience.

There was entertainment for all the family with Ark Open Farm’s petting zoo, a climbing wall and roving entertainers, plus live music from the Belfast Community Gospel Choir and authentic pipers. The weekend also included a special cookery theatre with Great British Menu stalwart and owner of the UK’s best local restaurant, Wine and Brine’s Chris McGowan, who delighted the crowds by cooking up a storm with local produce, before Stephen Jeffers of Forestside presented his chosen menu to the crowds. The atmosphere on-site was infectious as Fiddler Adam and the Ginhouse entertained the crowds with their performances.

The 60 plus exhibitors sampled the finest of food and drink products, and some of those present included Tayto who entertained the younger guests with the Tayto castle, Neill’s Flour who flipped delicious pancakes, Rory Best who made an exciting appearance for Glenisk, Punjana who ensured everyone had a hot brew and Magners and Diageo who served older guests a liquid taste of Northern Irish hospitality.

Denvir is incredibly proud to have been a part of Tesco Northern Ireland’s flagship consumer food and drink event. Working with Tesco Northern Ireland, we are already thinking about how we can plan and deliver an even better Tesco Taste Festival next year!
