As Christmas fast approaches the Denvir Marketing team are getting into the spirit of the season by giving back to a great cause. We are celebrating 40 years of Cancer Support Scotland by walking, running or cycling 40k each. The charity provides a lifeline for people living with cancer so we will be digging out our thermals and fitness wear and braving the cold winter air.
Throughout December, we are going to be clocking-up the kilometres to help support the charity as they continue to make a difference to people’s lives. With the continuing Covid-19 pandemic, it is more important than ever that those living with cancer get the vital support they need. Whether we’re pulling on our walking boots, our running shoes, or saddling-up on our bikes, we’ll be trying to raise as much as we can to help.
Cancer Support Scotland have adapted to the changing climate well in 2020 by setting up digital counselling and online support networks for those living with cancer. Telephone and video calls have replaced face to face meetings but Cancer Support Scotland are making sure it is still providing support to those who need it. It could be members of their Wellbeing team reaching out to those who are isolated over the festive season and offering them a friendly voice and someone who will listen. Or it might be their counselling team, who provide ongoing emotional support to those living with cancer. Cancer Support Scotland also offer virtual stress-management classes for those feeling overwhelmed and isolated as well as self-help resources. These resources provide audio, video and written support, giving those who are affected by cancer the reassurance they need.
Any donations to our 40k for 40 years campaign will be gratefully received. You can access our JustGiving page. The money you donate will give holistic care and support to those living with cancer and allow them to focus on their wellbeing. In these challenging times your donation can help Cancer Support Scotland care for those living with cancer as well as their loved ones.
